Investigators at the Yorktown Police Department received a call shortly after 2:45 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15, from a Stony Street resident reporting that a dog was running loose in the area near Stony Manor Court.
Police said that a Community Service Worker was dispatched to the area, where it was determined that a Lhasa Also dog owned by Yorktown resident Lisa Garofalo was running at large in the neighborhood. The investigation led to a criminal summons for Garofalo.
According to police, Garofalo voluntarily appeared at Yorktown Police Headquarters on Friday, Jan. 18, to turn herself in. Garofalo was issued a summons for allowing a dog to run at large, a Yorktown Town Code Violation. Garofalo was processed on the charge and issued a ticket to return to Yorktown Justice Court on Feb. 21 to respond to the charge.
